🤔 What is a Cached Report?

A Cached Report is a copy of a report that has been saved to a cache or temporary storage location for quicker access in the future. When a user requests a report, the report server checks to see if a cached version of the report exists. If a cached report is available, the report server can return that cached report to the user instead of generating the report from scratch.

The use of cached reports can significantly reduce the time it takes to generate a report, especially for reports that are complex or have large amounts of data. By using cached reports, users can get the information they need more quickly, without putting additional strain on the server.

💡How does it work?

  • Data is supplied in JSON, Excel is able to pivot and dynamically create a table from this.

  • Reports refresh once per hour in a 24 hour period by manually clicking the 'Refresh' button in the cached report file

📈 What reports are available?

  • All Summary Reports can be made available as cached reports.

  • This includes Workspace and Project wide reports.

  • Custom reports can also be requested. Contact your Account Manager to discuss.
