Unit of Measure for Activities

This guide introduces the new "Unit of Measure" (UoM) dropdown option within the "Activity Information" tab when editing project fields in Gather.

Benefits of Consistent Unit Measurement:

Inconsistent measurement units can significantly reduce data quality, hindering the effectiveness of analytics and reports. The UoM option helps you accurately track and measure activity-related material quantities, leading to more reliable data.

Adding Unit of Measure to Activities

Prerequisites:

  • Unit of Measure must be enabled for your account. Contact your Account Manager or Support Team if it's not currently available.

Steps:

  1. On the project homepage, select the desired project and click the gear icon ('cog' symbol) located on the left side menu, next to "PROJECT."

  2. This will open the "Edit Project Fields" page. Here, you can edit the dropdown menus for this project. You'll see three tabs:

    • Shift Information

    • Resource Information

    • Activity Information (select this tab)

  3. Within the "Activity Information" tab, you'll find the new "Unit of Measure" field option. Use this to specify how you're measuring each activity for consistent data collection.

  4. To add new unit options, click the '+ ADD NEW LINE' button. Enter your desired units separated by commas (e.g., "hours, days, meters").

  5. Click 'Save' to update your new dropdown options.
