What to do when your shift is cancelled

How to submit a cancelled shift.

If your shift is cancelled, it is still important to submit your Shift Record. This can avoid further shifts being cancelled by using the information gathered from previous Shift Records.

How to complete a Shift Record for a cancelled Shift

Shift Information

  • Complete all compulsory fields

Access Information

  • Planned Works Commence - the time works were planned to begin

  • Actual Works Commence - populate the same as ‘Planned Works Complete’

  • Planned Works Complete - the time works were planned to end

  • Actual Works Complete - populate the same as ‘Planned Works Complete’

  • Variance Category - Choose option: ‘All works cancelled’

Resource Information

  • Complete all compulsory fields

Worklog

  • Actual Quantity - 0

  • Reason for variance - Explain why shift was cancelled

Shift Comments

  • Complete all compulsory fields

Hours Allocation

  • Allocate 0 hours to all Resources and state the shift was cancelled in the "Reason for variance" box

  • We would also recommend that all cancelled Shift Records be tagged.
